With an Austin feel and temperament which is distinctly Jewish, Congregation Beth El is open and welcoming to all visitors. An independent traditional conservative congregation, we are a vibrant community of families and individuals, seeking to create an environment that is spiritual, warm and inviting, without pretension or unnecessary formality.
If you are reading this message on our website, then you are considering taking an important step, joining a Jewish community, a place where you will be able to worship, to learn more about your heritage, and where you will feel at home.
Beth El is literally a Beit Knesset, a House of Worship. Located in a converted duplex, don’t let the outward appearance of the building fool you. Inside is a friendly, welcoming and spiritual community. Since our founding in 1981, our members have treated each other like an extended family. Our members backgrounds range from Orthodox to Reform, from Jews by choice, to inter-married families. We are connected by our friendships, our desire for meaningful prayer and Jewish practice, and a desire to lead a more Jewish life.
Our children play together and learn Torah values together. The adults, directed by Cantor Yitzhak Ben-Moshe pray together and grow in the knowledge of our faith and work on applying the lessons of the Torah to our modern, fast-paced lives. If you are looking for spirituality and have a thirst for meaning, join our thriving community.
